Account Deletion Agreement
Aug 01, 2026

This Account Deletion Agreement (the “Agreement”) explains how you can request the deletion of your BoldRadiant account, what happens during and after the process, and how the outcome affects your personal data. It applies to accounts created and used across the BoldRadiant jewelry and lab-grown diamond stores at boldradiant.com. This Agreement is effective as of 2026-08-01.

Please read this Agreement carefully before initiating a deletion request. Account deletion at BoldRadiant is a deliberate, multi-step process designed to protect you against accidental or unauthorized loss of your account, while still honoring your right to have your personal data removed. By starting a deletion request, you confirm that you understand and accept the process described below.

This Agreement should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which describes more broadly how we collect, use, and protect your personal information and the privacy rights available to you.

1. Introduction and Purpose

The purpose of this Agreement is to give you clear, accurate information about the account deletion mechanism actually operated by BoldRadiant, so that you can make an informed decision. It describes:

  • how to request deletion and how we confirm it is really you;
  • the conditions that must be met before a request can be accepted;
  • the 15-day cooling-off period that follows a successful request;
  • how a request can be cancelled during that period;
  • what technically happens to your data after the cooling-off period ends; and
  • the effects, irreversibility, and legal basis of the process.

Nothing in this Agreement limits any rights you may have under applicable data protection law. Where mandatory law grants you broader rights, those rights continue to apply.

2. How to Request Deletion

You can initiate an account deletion request from within your BoldRadiant account. To protect your account against unauthorized or mistaken deletion, we verify your identity before accepting the request.

Identity verification is performed using an email verification code: when you start the deletion process, we send a one-time code to the email address associated with your account. You must enter this code to confirm that you control the account’s email address and that the request is genuinely made by you. If you do not enter a valid code, the deletion request will not be initiated.

If you no longer have access to your account’s email address, you will not be able to complete the verification step through the normal flow. In that case, please contact us using the details in the “Contact Us” section so we can assist you.

3. Preconditions for Deletion

To protect both you and the integrity of ongoing transactions, a deletion request cannot be initiated while your account has business activity that is still in progress. Specifically, initiation is blocked if you have:

  • pending or incomplete orders (for example, orders that are placed, paid, or in fulfillment but not yet completed); or
  • open after-sales tickets (for example, returns, exchanges, or support cases that have not been resolved or closed).

If any of these conditions apply, the system will prevent you from starting the deletion and will indicate that you need to resolve the outstanding items first. Once your pending orders are completed (or cancelled) and your after-sales tickets are closed, you may return and initiate the deletion request again.

This precondition exists so that deleting your account does not disrupt an order you are still expecting, a payment in progress, or a support case we are actively handling on your behalf.

4. The 15-Day Cooling-Off Period

When your deletion request is successfully initiated (after email code verification, with no blocking orders or tickets), a 15-day cooling-off period begins. Internally, this is recorded as the moment your request was made.

During the cooling-off period:

  • Your account is marked for deletion but is not yet deleted or anonymized.
  • Your account continues to function normally — you can still sign in, browse, and use your account as before.
  • No irreversible action is taken. The cooling-off period is a safety window that gives you time to change your mind.

The purpose of this waiting period is to prevent irreversible loss of your account and order history due to an accidental request, a momentary decision, or unauthorized access. Only after the full 15 days have elapsed without cancellation does the process move to the final, irreversible stage described in Section 6.

5. Cancelling Your Request

You can cancel a pending deletion request at any time during the 15-day cooling-off period. There are two ways this can happen:

5.1 Automatic cancellation by signing in

Simply logging in to your account during the cooling-off period automatically cancels the pending deletion request. Because a successful login demonstrates that you still have access to and control over the account, we treat it as a clear signal that you wish to keep your account. After such a login, your account returns to its normal, active state and is no longer marked for deletion.

5.2 Explicit cancellation

You may also cancel the request explicitly through the dedicated cancellation option. For your security, explicit cancellation requires you to re-authenticate (confirm your identity again) before the request is withdrawn. Once cancelled, the deletion request is cleared and no anonymization will take place.

If you neither sign in nor explicitly cancel before the 15 days expire, the deletion will proceed automatically.

6. What Happens After 15 Days

If the 15-day cooling-off period ends without cancellation, a background process finalizes the deletion. It is important to understand that BoldRadiant performs anonymization rather than physical deletion of the underlying database rows. This approach lets us remove your personal identity from the account while preserving the referential integrity of related records (such as historical order records that are linked to your account).

Concretely, the finalization process:

  • replaces the account’s email address with a non-identifying placeholder in the form deleted_*@deleted.local;
  • sets the account’s login type to deleted, which disables normal sign-in for that account; and
  • scrubs personal identifiers from the account so the record can no longer be used to identify you.

The underlying account row and related records are retained in anonymized form to preserve foreign-key / referential integrity — for example, so that historical orders remain internally consistent and are not orphaned. After anonymization, these records no longer identify you as an individual.

7. Scope and Effects of Deletion

7.1 What you lose

Once anonymization completes, you will:

  • lose the ability to sign in to the account (the login type is set to deleted);
  • lose access to account features and to the personal data previously visible in your account, including your saved profile, saved addresses, and order-history views tied to the identifiable account; and
  • need to create a new account if you wish to shop with BoldRadiant again in the future.

7.2 What is retained in anonymized or legally required form

Certain records are retained in anonymized form and/or where we are legally required to keep them. In particular, order and transaction records may be retained for legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, and record-keeping obligations, in a form that no longer identifies you as an individual. We retain such records only for as long as necessary to meet those obligations. The specific retention period is as follows: order and transaction records are retained for 7 years to meet tax, accounting and anti-fraud obligations.

7.3 Impact on specific items

  • Email subscriptions: your email address is removed from your account and can no longer be used to sign in; you will stop receiving account-based communications. You may also unsubscribe from marketing email at any time using the unsubscribe link in our emails.
  • Product reviews: reviews you submitted may remain visible in a de-identified form, disassociated from your identifiable account.
  • After-sales tickets: because open tickets must be resolved before deletion, remaining ticket records are retained in anonymized form as part of our business and legal records.

8. Irreversibility

The cooling-off period is fully reversible; the final anonymization is not. Once the 15-day period has elapsed and anonymization has completed, the process cannot be undone. We cannot restore a deleted (anonymized) account, recover its personal data, or re-link anonymized records to you. If you are unsure, please cancel the request during the cooling-off period (see Section 5) rather than relying on recovery afterward.

For users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and other regions with comparable laws, this deletion mechanism supports your right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”) under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and equivalent legislation. By anonymizing your personal identifiers, we render the retained records no longer attributable to you.

The right to erasure is not absolute. Where we are subject to a legal obligation to retain certain information (for example, tax, accounting, and transaction records), or where retention is necessary for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims, we may keep the relevant records for the period required by law — in anonymized form wherever possible. The applicable retention periods and legal bases are as set out in our Privacy Policy: order and transaction records for 7 years, and other categories for no longer than necessary.

You also have other rights — including access, rectification, restriction, portability, objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — as described in our Privacy Policy. Exercising your right to delete your account does not waive any of these rights with respect to data we lawfully retain.

The identity of our legal entity, our registered address, the governing law, and dispute-resolution terms are set out (or will be set out) in our governing documents: BoldRadiant is contactable at info@boldradiant.com; our registered address is available on request, and this Agreement is governed by the laws of the Hong Kong SAR.
