Solitaire Pendant Necklace

The chain matters more than people expect. A pendant on a chain that is too heavy sits badly; on one too fine it saws. This is a 1.1 mm cable chain — enough to carry the stone and hold its round, fine enough to disappear.

The bail is fixed rather than sliding, so the stone stays centred at the throat instead of drifting. Length is adjustable at 16 and 18 inches, which covers the collarbone and just below it.
