Petite Milgrain Wedding Band

Milgrain is a row of tiny beads worked along an edge with a knurling wheel — a finishing technique from a century ago, when it was used to hide the join between two metals. It survives because it softens a hard edge.

On this 1.6 mm band the milgrain runs along both rims and nothing else does. There is no stone, no engraving and no pattern; the whole design is the edge treatment and the weight of the metal. It stacks well precisely because it does not compete.
